Pre TT Classic: Herbertson Excels, Records Broke

Chasin The Racin podcast star Dominic Herbertson took a starring role this morning, afternoon at the Blackford Financial Services Pre TT Classic Road Races, claiming in comprehensive fashion Junior 350, Senior 500 race victories.

Victorious from Saturday evening’s 500B race, today’s late morning seven lap Junior 350 encounter saw Davies Motorsport’s Herbertson in control throughout.

His final race winning margin stood at just past 4.5 seconds, over Ruthless Racing Honda mounted Rob Hodson.

Third place finisher, Hebden Bridge’s Jamie Coward underlined his proven yesteryear racing skillset by setting a new class lap record of 91.274 mph.

The corresponding Greystone LLC Senior 500 race would see KTS Racing Powered by Steadplan’s Coward embroiled throughout, in a tight battle for second.

Ultimately going onto finish third, second went to highly respected classics racer Alan Oversby who was over ten seconds in arrears behind runaway race winner, now five times Pre TT Classic winner, the aforementioned Herbertson.

Herbertson’s fifth classics triumph around Billown, third win of the meeting was made all the more tumultuous, via a new Senior 500 lap record of 96.067 mph (2 minutes 39.264 seconds).

Alongside Herbertson, Coward, Hodson, Oversby others to seal race wins, rostrum finishes at Castletown were:

Loris Hunt (1st 250 Lightweight), Pre TT Classic wins record holder Mike Hose (2nd 250 Lightweight/1st Classic Superbike), Richard Ford (3rd 250 Lightweight). Hefyn Owen (1st 125 Post Classic), Russell Roebury (2nd 125 Post Classic), Mark Herbertson (3rd 125 Post Classic).

Chris Moore (1st Junior Superbike), Tom Snow (2nd Junior Superbike), Marcus Simpson (3rd Junior Superbike).

Simon Lehane (1st 350/250cc Consolation), Michael Titchmarsh (2nd 350/250cc Consolation), Richard Stott (3rd 350/250cc Consolation).

Leading Billown course newcomer Joe Yeardsley (2nd Classic Superbike), Andy Sailor (3rd Classic Superbike), not forgetting the Sidecar front runners who treated those in attendance to a thrilling Grandstand finish.

Winners Danny Quirk/Dylan Weston, respective second, third place finishers Tony Thirkell/Trevor Johnson and David Lissaman/Rob Child.
