Part of the famous Minns racing dynasty, Peter Minns who claimed a top five finish within the Newcomers B Manx GP race from 2013, is the next racer to take part in Road Racing News growing in popularity, Oliver’s Mount Top 8 series.
An accomplished exponent of ER6 Kawasaki machinery, his answers to the Scarborough themed set of questions are as follows:
Q1: First memory of Oliver’s Mount?
“Michael (Mike Minns) going on his first formula 2 outfit, which dropped onto three cylinders, Ian fixed it at the track, think he did quite well before his accident at Cadwell Park, that was my first memory.”
Q2: Favourite part about racing at the mount?
“Gotta be the Jumps, Dave Bell showed me how to go over the Jumps. Obviously I don’t jump like Davey, but yeah that’s definitely the favourite part.”
Q3: Favourite section of Scarborough course?
“Gotta be the Hairpin up under the bridge onto the back straight, brilliant and fast.”
Q4: Best moment thus far at Scarborough?
“All of it really, just getting to ride there, getting my national licence to ride there.”
Q5: All time Scarborough racing hero?
“Ian Bell”
Q6: Is there one machine in particular that you would like to race at Scarborough?
“Dad’s Sidecar around Scarborough.”
Q7: One word to describe Oliver’s Mount?
“Brilliant”

Q8: Most respected racing rival at Scarborough?
“All I wanted to do is race there and try and get close to Michael’s (Mike Minns) lap times, you know the brotherly competition that’s what it was.”
