Oliver’s Mount Top 8: Dan Ingham

A highly prominent exponent of Lightweight 400 machinery, Dan Ingham who’s roads resume includes various top draw results at North Yorkshire’s ‘Mini TT’, is the next racer to take part in Road Racing News growing in popularity, Oliver’s Mount Top 8 series.

Runner up within the opening Ultra Lightweight race of last year’s Manx Grand Prix, his answers to the Scarborough themed set of questions are as follows:

Q1: First memory of Oliver’s Mount?

“2014 Spring Cup, I went to watch Nick Anderson and for a recce of the place, to later enter the Gold Cup later that year.

I road my 1981 Kawasaki Z200 150 miles to the Mount with my Mate Angus. Think I had to stop more times for oil than fuel.”

Q2: Favourite part about racing at the mount?

“I love the circuit. Not many places like Scarborough and to have it still in England is fantastic.”

Q3: Favourite section of Scarborough course?

“Has to be Jefferies Jumps. Who doesn’t like pulling wheelies.”

Q4: Best moment thus far at Scarborough?

“Finishing second in one of the lightweight races on my 400. Think it was from a meeting in 2015. Absolutely loved that race but ended up coming off the next day.”

Q5: All time Scarborough racing hero?

“Has to be Joey Dunlop. He’s my hero. Wish I got the chance to see him ride.”

Q6: Is there one machine in particular that you would like to race at Scarborough?

“I would love to ride a TZ250 Yamaha. Not just at Scarborough but anywhere. So if there is any kind people out there who has one give me a shout!”

Q7: One word to describe Oliver’s Mount?

“Narrow”

Q8: Most respected racing rival at Scarborough?

Probably has to be Pete Boast. No matter what he rides round there he is quick. Real nice chap as well.”
