Horst Saiger surprised many by going fastest in the opening superstock practice session at this years Vauxhall international North West 200. Horst competing for his own team on a ZX10 Kawasaki produced a lap speed of 118.535 mph to edge out Michael Rutter for top spot in practice.
Michael competing on Bathams BMW superstock bike lapped at 118.491 mph to finish second quickest, Stephen Thompson team mate to the 13 time North West 200 winner was a fantastic third fastest. Martin Jessopp was fourth on Riders motorcycles HP4 BMW, Simon Andrews was fifth for Penz 13.com BMW, in superstock practice four BMW mounted riders where in the top five.
Lee Johnston was leading Honda mounted rider in practice for East Coast racing in being sixth fastest, William Dunlop continued to show good form in finishing seventh overall. Dean Harrison was eighth for RC Express racing Kawasaki, Gary Johnson finished ninth on JRC racing ZX10 Kawasaki and Guy Martin completed the top ten.
