Overcast, cool, but most importantly dry weather greeted competitors for the second NW200 Super Twins qualifying session of 2019, which provided fans around the Triangle course with more reasons to state why the Twins class provides such enthralling, captivating action.
Third quickest in Q2, Hebden Bridge’s Jamie Coward (4.57.829) remains overall top of the qualifying time sheets, and will start on pole for this evening’s opening Twins encounter.

Overall second fastest, Michael Rutter (4.58.029) heads the KMR Kawasaki challenge, just in front of Q2 pace setter Derek McGee (4.58.492).
Completing the six quickest overall competitors from Tuesday, Thursday’s timed practice sessions, were Glenn Irwin (4.58.625), VAS Engine Racing’s Stefano Bonetti (4.58.830) and former 250 NW200 champ Christian Elkin (4.58.931).
Seventh fastest overall, Jeremy McWilliams (5.00.442), chances of taking part in tonight’s four lap Twins race, took a blow when the multi NW200 race winner slid off at Magherbouy Chicane.
Although not injured from the accident, the ex Grand Prix 250 star hasn’t banked enough of the mandatory laps needed, to take part in race action. He’s now relying on special dispensation from event organisers, to be able to participate tonight, and on Saturday.
Rounding out the overall ten quickest qualifiers were lead Paton runner Horst Saiger (5.02.392), Michael Sweeney (5.05.328), another needing special dispensation to compete this evening, and impressive Triangle course debutant James Chawke (5.05.411).
