Darlington’s Stephen Degnan has disclosed his 2022 racing plans which mix national purpose-built circuit racing outings with Irish road racing challenges.
Roads wise the Oliver’s Mount Scarborough stalwart is hoping to compete at next month’s KDM Hire Cookstown 100, the returning Kells Road Races, Walderstown, Mid Antrim 150 and the ever growing in prestige Armoy Road Races.
Degnan is also aiming to tackle the opening International road race of 2022, the FonaCAB/Nicholl Oils North West 200, piloting ZX10RR, ZX636RR Kawasaki tackle that he recently tested at Teesside.
Alongside aforementioned ‘between the hedges’ competition, additional racing itinerary includes Darley Moor, East Fortune meets and possibly the odd Irish Superbike Championship round.
Looking ahead to this season, ‘Degsy’ candidly stated:
“My season starts this weekend at Croft and then Darley Moor 9th/10th April. But my main focus is on the Irish Road Racing scene.
I just love going over to Ireland to race and enjoy the craic. I’ve got two really good bikes and I’m feeling really fit so looking for some good results this year.”
