Father, son Nigel Rea and Ben Rea are looking forward to tackling again an Irish Road Race, with the duo ready to sample the much anticipated first Armoy Road Races since 2019.
A newcomer to Armoy, Nigel Rea’s first ‘Race of Legends’ project sees him take in the Senior Support, Junior Support, Super Twin races on the Mint Suzy Rea Racing GSX-R 600 and the Alan Lygo supported Z650 Kawasaki.
Speaking recently about his son Ben’s latest Irish roads stint, he stated:
“For Ben he will race a classic 350 competing aboard the Steadplan Duggan Honda and will also pilot the Steadplan Rea Racing 500 Honda.
On this bike last year Ben finished on the podium with impressive times, an improved chassis and engine for 2021 gives Ben a great chance to improve on his knowledge there whilst competing in the same race as Guy Martin and Michael Dunlop.
Ben also rides in the Supersport races onboard the Duggan Rea Racing 600 Kawasaki.”
He went onto add:
“We’ve both been as busy as possible during Covid times to keep some bike fitness, contesting some club races alongside Ben racing the Ohvale machine at small bike racing events championed by Peter Hickman.”
The well liked, amiable racer also added that the Rea Racing squad are also Cookstown bound in September, as they aim as at Armoy to showcase their talents.
