Set to mark forty years since his monumental achievement of winning the 1978 Formula 1 TT on his return to TT action, the Sports Motorcycles Ducati that Mike Hailwood took to victory will return to the Mountain Course in 2018 at the Classic TT Races.
The bike will be piloted in a parade lap by none other than 23 times TT winner John McGuinness, who is honoured to have been asked to pilot the machine, which is regarded amongst the most iconic and prestigious of the TT’s 100 year plus glittering history.

Speaking about the opportunity to sample for many the most famous Ducati TT mount of all time, seven times Senior TT champion McGuinness stated:
“I’ve already had some special moments on the Mountain Course in my career,- both racing and with parades, but this is undoubtedly going to be one of the real highlights.
It’s truly an honour and a privilege to be asked to represent Mike even though I was only six when he came back and won the F1 Race.
It’s an iconic moment in TT history and a story that everyone who follows the event knows about.”
