Coming up this Friday, Saturday, the Mid Antrim 150 Motorcycle Show is a must go exhibition event for petrolheads, roads scene aficionados.
Real road racing fountain of knowledge, Baylon McCaughey, takes up the story:
In what promises to be a bumper year of events for the Mid Antrim 150 Club, excitement is building ahead of the much-anticipated return of their popular road race, later this year. Meanwhile, the organising club is gearing up to host its annual Motorcycle Show this forthcoming Friday and Saturday (27th/28th Feb), an eagerly awaited highlight for bike enthusiasts across the region.
The show floor will feature an impressive variety of motorcycles, ranging from pristine classic bikes and high-powered race bikes to everyday road machines, minibikes, and custom creations.
Attendees can browse various trade stands for parts and accessories, enjoy insightful interviews with special guests, and explore the bustling auto jumble for rare finds.
A highlight of this year’s event is a heartfelt tribute to the legendary Neil ‘Smutty’ Robinson, who tragically lost his life forty years ago.
To honour his memory and stellar racing career, the club is curating an extensive collection of Smutty’s race bikes, personal memorabilia, and photographs, offering visitors a poignant glimpse into the legacy of one of the sport’s greats.
The Motorcycle Show has long been a cherished social gathering, offering a perfect opportunity for riders, sponsors, supporters, and friends to reconnect and share their passion before the busy racing season kicks off in April.
Looking beyond the show, the club (Mid Antrim 150) has a packed calendar: this year’s Neil & Donny Robinson Memorial short circuit races will take place on July 18th and 19th at Bishopscourt, promising thrilling action for competitors and spectators alike.
Then, on July 31st and August 1st, road racing returns to the iconic Clough circuit with the much-anticipated Mid Antrim 150, marking a significant comeback for the event after its absence from the calendar.
Visitors to the show can also enjoy a range of delicious food and refreshments available throughout both days.
Admission is just £10.00 per person, with free entry for youngsters, ensuring the event is accessible for families and fans of all ages.
Adding to the excitement, the ever-popular Commentary Corner podcast team will be in attendance, recording their first-ever live podcast from the show floor—giving fans a unique chance to experience the action and insights in real time.
