NW200: Seeley Enters Super Twins Fray

New, significant Maxwell Freight Services, John M Paterson Super Twin NW200 encounters entrant, class newcomer, Triangle course wins leader Alastair Seeley.

The ‘Wee Wizard’ as in the Supersport races, competes for 3B Construction title supported Binch Pro Racing.

Another form of continuity is an Italian moto package but this time Aprilia’s NW200 winning RS660 model.

Chatting recently around the prior illustrated topics, the Carrickfergus rider said:

“I have never ridden a Super twin machine before so it will be something new.

Maybe I can try to knock out some wins in the smaller cc classes rather than searching for wins in the bigger bike classes where all the big hitters who are regularly competing in BSB are.

The Super twin class is a fiercely competitive class, and I know that Richard Cooper will be having a good go again and with riders like Paul Jordan, Peter Hickman, Adam McLean and Jeremy McWilliams in the class, there will be plenty of competition.”

He added:

“I am not a full-time racer now and I am not training as much as before. The smaller bike will be easier physically for me to ride compared to the bigger bikes in the Superstock and Superbike classes which take a lot of wrestling.

The more races I have, then I am getting mileage that I would not otherwise get.

The team (Binch Pro Racing) have come to the rescue this year and given me a good chance to go for that 30th win and it would be nice to reward them with a victory.”

News Reaction:

Binch Pro Racing, Team Owner Dave Binch:

“As a team we are really focussed on that 30th win and we know it is a big deal for Alastair.

We want to help him get there. We are not going to the Northwest to make up the numbers. It is an exciting opportunity for Alastair and for us and we will give it our best shot.”

NW200’s Mervyn Whyte:

“Alastair and the team have a real chance of making history at the 2026 Briggs Equipment Northwest 200.

It won’t be easy, but Alastair will have plenty of home support behind him and if he can achieve that 30th win it will be an incredible achievement.”
