By 13 times TT winner Michael Dunlop, is switching to Suzuki power for TT 2017, as he remains with the Hawk Racing team, riding under the Bennetts Suzuki banner.
After the usual merry go round, of where will he end up for the forthcoming season, it’s fair to say the Mountain Course maestro’s newest challenge of piloting the all new GSX-R 1000R Suzuki, is one that has surprised many.
The reason for this is, after his turbulent time with a new machine when competing for Milwaukee Yamaha, the general opinion was he won’t take on a gamble like this again.
Well he has, but this time, it has to be said in my opinion, the ingredients for success, are more in place this time around.

I state cause he is competing for a team, he has enjoyed great success with, plus one that has secured direct factory support from Suzuki, including backing from the marques famous Yoshimura Racing outfit.
Known for his sheer determination and an unparalleled will to win, one of Michael’s other great qualities is his ability to turn a machine into a winner.
This was showcased in full in 2014, when he enjoyed great success a plenty, with BMW Motorrad and their unheralded at the TT Races, S1000RR stead.
A similar kind of situation will arise at TT 2017, as the three times Superbike TT winner, bids to become the first rider to win on Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, BMW and Suzuki machinery, at the world’s most famous roads meeting.
Alongside action on the Isle of Man’s magical roads, he is also set to pilot the Bennetts Suzuki’s at the North West 200 and the world’s fastest road race, the Ulster Grand Prix.
One sentiment I have said on more than once occasion about Michael Dunlop, is that he proves the impossible is possible.
He is going to need all of his talent, drive, set up ability and most of all determination at TT 2017, as he bids to put Suzuki back on the top step of the podium, in the Isle of Man.
