Manx Grand Prix: Harrison, Parsons, Curinga, Yves Bian Amongst Standout Saturday Afternoon Practice Exponents

Prior to today’s Classic TT race action, this afternoon’s Manx GP practice sessions proved immensely prodigious for various competitors including Chris Preston Racing’s Nathan Harrison.

Widely tipped to contend next week for Junior, Senior race honours, next gen Manx roads star Harrison set today an unofficial new outright Junior Manx GP lap record.

Harrison’s momentous lap speed set from a standing start was a quite sensational 120.67 mph. Joining the CBR 600RR Honda mounted racer as a new unofficial ‘Tommy Club’ member was The Peoples Bike Team’s Stephen Parsons, who’s new PB lap speed stands at 120.51 mph.

Others to show impressive, accomplished pace alongside the ultra impressive Harrison & Parsons included respective third, fourth quickest Junior class exponents Stephen Smith (119.64 mph) and Irish Road Race Supersport Champion front runner Darryl Tweed (119.40 mph).

Ultra Lightweight practice week leader Dan Ingham (119.52) also quietly impressed in finishing lead 750 machinery competitor.

Francesco Curinga topped the Lightweight practice leader board, lapping at 112.89 mph, whilst fellow countryman Andrea Majola (110.63 mph) continued to set the Newcomers B pace, nudging for the first time over the 110 mph lap mark.

Newcomers C wise, it was Pete Gibson (97.92 mph) who got the better of Adrian Skaife (96.92 mph) to head the class’s times sheet.

Reflecting on Newcomers A class action, Pierre Yves Bian’s pace was so potent, impressive that his new unofficial PB lap speed of 115.55 mph, placed him overall 15th quickest on the Junior practice times sheet.

Redgate Motorsport supported Mike Mace (111.45 mph) as during Friday’s practice sessions, was the lead chaser to the established IRRC Supersport front runner.

Additional Newcomers A competitors to impress today included Sam Mousley (111.14 mph), Lewis Bramwell (109.36 mph) and Alun Brooks (109.23 mph).
