First founded in 1973, the Rimini based Bimota marque has punched above it’s weight on many occasions through the years in particular in 1987, becoming with Virginio Ferrari Formula 1 TT World Champions.
Absent from the Classic TT/Manx GP scene since 2018, they are back for the 100th Anniversary Manx Grand Prix, adding a splash of something different to the Classic Superbike fraternity.
North West 200 winner, European Hill Climb front runner, last year’s Senior Classic race runner-up Stefano Bonetti heads the Bimota Classic Parts challenge (Italian parts distributor for Bimota).
Whilst the Amore Moto team managed by former Mountain Course racer, seven times top fifteen TT finisher Ben Wylie, has previous TT Privateers Championship runner-up Sam West and French ace Timothee Monot at the controls of Moto Hub UK built steeds.
Twenty-two plate holder West, Monot, the above showcased Bonetti will all be astride the distinctive sounding, lightweight, potently powerful, delicate at times reliability wise YB4 model.
A Bimota surprise during the 2023 Manx Grand Prix? No matter what transpires as stated previously they provide a different element to the yesteryear RST Classic Superbike class.
