Michael Rutter lead the way in first practice at this years Macau Grand Prix. Michael competing on the SMT racing CBR 1000 Honda Fireblade with a lap time of 2 minutes 27.489 seconds. Second quickest was Jimmy Storrar on the DMR racing SR1000 BMW with a lap time of 2 minutes 29.837 seconds, Horst Saiger finished a brilliant third quickest in front of John Mcguinness who finished fourth quickest on the Honda TT legends racing superbike.
On his return to competitive action Ian Hutchinson finished fifth fastest on the Milwaukee Yamaha superbike, Martin Jessopp rounded out the top six in practice on the Riders motorcycles SR1000 BMW. Gary Johnson finished seventh fastest on the Quattro Plant motorsport CBR 1000 Honda Fireblade, Jeremy Toye competing for the Penz 13.com BMW team finished eighth quickest. Ninth and tenth fastest in practice where Stephen Thompson and current International road racing championship champion Didier Grams.
