Finland’s leading pure road racer Erno Kostamo, is eyeing up a first TT Races tenure.
Macau Grand Prix winner back in November, he became the first overseas Guia Circuit Champion since Andreas Hofmann in 1997.
Back to back IRRC Superbike race victor at Imatranajo, Kostamo placed overall fourth in last season’s IRRC series, banking in total 108 Championship points.
Unquestionably one of Europe’s brightest, most fiercely determined roads scene exponents, his progress at the unparalleled TT Races, will be monitored closely by many.
For TT 2023, he is set to race under his own teams 38 Motorsport banner, piloting to be confirmed 1000cc machinery.
In addition to travelling to Manx shores, Kostamo’s 2023 race season plans also feature the North West 200 and selected IRRC rounds which don’t clash with road racing’s ‘majors’.
Another Macau GP venture also beckons for Kostamo, who is due to be the first solo Finnish TT pilot in seven years.
