Dunlop Ends South African Classic TT Unbeaten

Following on from last weekend’s success, 21 times TT winner Michael Dunlop ended the 2022 South African Classic TT unbeaten, after sparkling displays at Red Star Raceway.

Aboard the potent GSX-R 750 SRAD mount provided by Team Classic Suzuki, the Supersport TT lap record holder held off the attentions of No.1 plate holder AJ Venter, to secure opening F1 Classic Superbike race honours by nigh on 1.4 seconds.

The next eight lap yesteryear Superbike encounter would see South Africa’s quickest TT exponent Venter, again prove the stiffest opposition to ‘MD’.

Nip and tuck throughout, 21st century roads scene icon Dunlop just had the edge, emerging victorious by under 0.9 of a second.

Wrapping up the podium finishers behind Dunlop, Venter who took the race’s fastest lap crown, was five times North West 200 victor, 1998 Senior TT winner Ian Simpson.
