France’s third quickest TT racer Jonathan Goetschy has announced his retirement, from competitive racing.
After over 24 years competing on purpose-built circuits, the roads, ‘La Buche’ is calling it quits.
A serious incident at Glen Helen in the second Superstock race of TT 2025, the recovery afterwards, has hastened his decision to look to a future outside road racing.
Five years amongst the TT rider ranks, he’s a three times top fifteen finisher, eight times top twenty finisher.
Lap time/lap speed wise, his zenith turn of pace was set within this year’s RST x D3O Superbike Race (aboard Optimark Road Racing S1000RR BMW), circulating the Mountain Course in just past 17 minutes 50 seconds (17:51.204 – equating mph to 126.799).
Outside the TT, Goetschy’s versatile racing resume also features, the following feats:

Top six finish at the Northwest 200, winning one of the all-time great IRRC Supersport races at Terlicko in 2018, amongst the one hundred swiftest racers in history at Circuit De Chimay, Imatranajo and Hengelo (Varsselring).
Four French Hill Climb titles, the 2010 Switzerland Hill Climb Championship title, fourth/top ten finisher overall in 2018 IRRC Supersport, Superbike Championships, second fastest French exponent at Horice.
