La Baneza: Castillejo Lorente Retains 125/Moto 3 Crown

Event favourite Antonio Jesus Castillejo Lorente retained the blue riband 125/Moto 3 crown on Sunday afternoon, at the 58th running of the La Baneza GP.

Six seconds clear of nearest challenger Alejandro Martinez Mas, the M.C. Fuente Alamo racer showcased again why he has to be considered amongst the leading all time exponents of the unique roads of La Baneza.

Antonio’s brother Jeronimo Castillejo Lorento concluded the rostrum finishers, at the end of 15 gruelling laps.

Angel Outerelo Dominguez, Francisco Javier Barrio Gonzalez and Manuel Vicente Varea Vilanova finished fourth, fifth and sixth, Jose Alberto Gomez Almela bagged seventh, as Bernardo Oliver Borrachero, Juan Miguel Sanchis Galvez and Ulises Ubeda Saura secured the final spots within the top ten.

Graced by a crowd of over 60,000 the 58th Carrera De Motos Gran Premio De Velocidad La Baneza, was an undoubted success.

Looking to the future, it will be interesting to see if any prominent 125/Moto 3 roads specialists in the UK, elect to venture across to Spain to participate at an event which just grows and grows on you.
