Kells Road Races Called Off Due To Coronavirus

Unfortunately following confirmation from event organisers North Meath Road Races Ltd, the hugely popular Kells Road Races has become the latest roads meeting to be called off due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

A recently issued statement by North Meath Road Races Ltd Chairperson Johnny Farrelly, reads as follows:

“After receiving official confirmation from our governing body, the MCUI S/C, we can confirm that the Kells Road Races will not go ahead on our original dates for this year.

As a club we do not wish to put residents, riders, spectators or officials in danger and feel the right decision has been made.

After a successful 2019 we were all looking forward to this year’s event but we look forward to bringing bikes back to Crossakiel in 2021.

Yours in Sport

Johnny Farrelly

Chairperson.”

Kells joins the TT, Pre TT Classic, Post TT Races on the sidelines for the 2020 season which has been decimated by the Coronavirus.

As I keep saying though lets keep thinking positive, road racing will return stronger in the future, their is light at the end of the tunnel contrary to what lots are posting on various social media platforms.
