A titanic cross generations duel for Loughran Stores Supersport race honours, culminated with Kevin Keyes pipping Michael Sweeney to first place, by 0.013 of a second!
0.763 behind Sweeney post lap two circulation, Daracore Racing’s Keyes trimmed the Skerries rider’s lead to 0.409 on lap three, then slightly more on the fifth, penultimate lap, to 0.341.
Lapping over 0.3 quicker through the sixth and final lap, Keyes in dramatic fashion beat Sweeney to the finish-line, to claim a famous first 600cc win at Kells.
Third placed Marcus Simpson was 9.817 behind the runaway duo of Keyes and Sweeney
Caomhan Canny, the current Senior Manx Grand Prix Champion acquired fourth, Lee Hara took fifth, Andy Farrell attained sixth.
Remaining race finishers were Classic Superbike race winner Ryan Whitehall (P7), Liam Chawke (P8), Noel Carroll (P9) and Jonathan Gormley (P10).
Brian McCormack, P3 across opening laps, dropped out of race proceedings on lap five.
