IRRC Horice: Fifty Racers Lap Sub 2 Minutes 26 Seconds

Fifty racers at Horice on Sunday lapped sub 2 minutes 26 seconds, yes you read this right!

Fastest of the fifty to accomplish this feat was new outright lap record holder, IRRC Superbike Championship leader David Datzer.

The second lap from the Superbike race opener saw MTP Racing’s Datzer break the existing lap record, lapping at 2.13.141 seconds.

Closest to Datzer’s turn of speed was lead Kawasaki pilot, Switzerland’s Lukas Maurer (2.15.099).

Just 0.085 shy of Maurer’s best time was Circuit De Chimay, Oostende lap record holder Vincent Lonbois (2.15.184).

Respective fourth, fifth quickest racers were the Netherlands speediest Horice pilot Joey Den Besten (2.15.721) and new wave Czech roads exponent Karel Pesek (2.16.423).

Previous lap record holder Didier Grams (2.16.482), Patrick Hoff (2.16.750), Hoffmann by MRP’s Markus Karlsson (2.16.967) also dipped under 2 minutes 19 seconds around the iconic Horice course.

An additional nine racers lapped below the 2.20 seconds barrier, they read as follows:

Laurent Hoffmann (2.17.296), IRRC Supersport Championship leader Marek Cerveny (2.17.911), Jorn Hamberg (2.17.932), Marcel Elsner (2.17.980), Team Schleizer Dreieck’s Thomas Walther (2.19.076).

Virgil Amber Bloemhard (2.19.217), Tomas Toth (2.19.520), Kamil Holan (2.19.687) and Johannes Schwimmbeck (2.19.984).

Quickest newcomers were Never Be Clever Racing’s Darryl Anderson (2.20.654) and twice TT winner, Brigg’s Gary Johnson (2.20.734).
