Kick starting the penultimate IRRC round of 2022 in the best possible fashion, MTP Racing’s David Datzer dazzled on route to taking pole position for tomorrow’s Horice Superbike encounters.
Opening qualifying proceedings saw Datzer unofficially set a new outright lap record of 2.13.842 seconds.
Speaking post first qualifying action, the top twenty Senior TT finisher stated via Facebook:
“What should I say‼️ New lap record here.
I think it won’t be official because it was in practice but still, I know for myself that I’m the fastest rider in Hořice.
Many thanks to MTP-Racing and all helpers and supporters, this is for all of you.”
With no one able to surpass his unofficial new lap record during second qualifying, Datzer was confirmed as today’s fastest Superbike exponent.
Second quickest, 1.2 seconds plus in arrears was Belgian ace, Q2 pace setter Vincent Lonbois (2.15.073).
Swiss star Lukas Maurer (2.15.403) finished overall third fastest ahead of 2012 Newcomers A Manx GP winner Kamil Holan (2.15.695) and modern time IRRC giants Erno Kostamo (2.16.909) and Joey Den Besten (2.17.630).
Rounding out the overall ten most rapid Superbike exponents were Karel Pesek (2.16.302), Didier Grams (2.16.748), Laurent Hoffmann (2.17.384) and Markus Karlsson (2.18.555).
