Relentless, consistent, faultless were words to describe Matthieu Lagrive’s performance, in the opening IRRC Supersport race at Hengelo, as the reigning series champion clinched in style race spoils.
Victorious by almost three seconds, Lagrive aboard the Wepol Road Racing Yamaha by mid race distance steadily moved clear of the chasing pack, which was headed by Pierre Yves Bian and Christian Schmitz.

The battle for second between Optimark Road Racing’s Yves Bian and Schmitz, which saw ultimately the respected counterparts covered by just over 0.3 of a second, saw rising German roads star Schmitz emerge on top.
Securing fourth behind Schmitz and Yves Bian, was event wildcard David Datzer, whilst acquiring a battling fifth place finish was two time IRRC Supersport champ, Laurent Hoffmann.
Thomas Walther finished sixth, Jorn Hamberg was a very respectable seventh, Anssi Koski in eighth place quietly impressed as did ninth, tenth place finishers respectively, Performance Racing Achterhoek’s Ilja Caljouw and Erwan Bannwart.
