IRRC Frohburg: Webb Adds Opening Supersport Honours To Prodigious 18 IRRC CV

Backing up his stellar qualifying form, IRRC Superbike champion Danny Webb mastered tricky damp, wet, patchy course conditions to claim the honours in today’s opening IRRC Supersport encounter.

Never headed within the nine lap race, at one stage he held a race lead of plus 4 and a half seconds, prior to a late race charge from Laurent Hoffmann.

Hoffmann who has over the years produced many a first class performance in tricky conditions, by lap 7 had got Webb’s race lead down to under 1.4 seconds.

Ultimately though YZF R6 Yamaha mounted Webb just had enough guile, pace and race craft to keep at bay Hoffmann to take the victory spoils by just over 1.4 seconds.

Over 11 seconds behind Webb, Hoffmann in third was Frohburg debutant, IRRC Supersport champion Matthieu Lagrive who as during the whole 2018 IRRC series produced another professional, accomplished, high calibre display.

Thomas Walther banked fourth, Lukas Maurer was fifth whilst Kamil Holan marked his return to race action with a more than creditable sixth place finish.

Wrapping up the first ten finishers were John Ross Billega, Kai Zentner, Jochen Rotter and Anssi Koski.

Outside the top ten others to quietly go under the radar and impress included Miroslav Sloboda (12th), Benjamin Beume (13th) and Poland’s Krystian Paluch (15th).
