Herpigny Motors BMW Motorrad Belux’s Sebastien Le Grelle is officially now a two time IRRC Superbike champion, following an enthralling opening big bike encounter at Frohburger Dreieck.
Needing to just finish behind main championship challenger Marek Cerveny, the ex Moto GP racer finished the race in third, but second in class, as event wildcard/newcomer Derek Sheils secured an excellent second place finish behind race winner Wepol/Safemetal Racing’s Cerveny.

Although he will have to settle for finishing second in this years IRRC Superbike series, it’s still been an accomplished maiden full season campaign within the premier class for the Czech roads great.
Looking back on this morning’s close fought ten lap race, Johan Fredriks dipped under the 1 minute 35 second mark in finishing fourth in front of Didier Grams.
Whilst Markka Racing’s Erno Kostamo sixth and Lukas Maurer seventh, both enjoyed productive races, finishing ahead of the likes of Petr Biciste, Danny Webb and Kamil Holan who finalised the top ten finishers.
