Former champion Laurent Hoffmann’s opening IRRC Supersport encounter success at Frohburg, means the title battle between second and third place finishers Joey Den Besten and Thomas Walther will go down to the final race of the season.
Performance Racing Achterhoek’s Den Besten will go into this afternoon’s all important race with an increased championship lead of 20 points, over Team Schleizer Dreieck’s Walther after a quite dramatic race this morning.
Lets be honest not many expected 2012 and 2013 series winner Hoffmann to claim race honours, at the same time many astute roads aficionados know the Belgian’s prowess in tricky damp, drying conditions.

With these aforementioned conditions gracing the opening IRRC competition of the day, the Delaur Road Racing Belgium backed racer steadily increased his pace, lap on lap, gradually reeling in championship protagonists Den Besten and Walther, to ultimately emerge victorious by just under 0.9 of a second.
Suter Moto 2 mounted Henrik Voit was a fine fourth, Sebastian Frotscher and Jochen Rotter both enjoyed solid races finishing fifth and sixth whilst Pierre Yves Bian’s in seventh place, title challenge concluded.
Remaining spots within the top ten where claimed by Kamil Holan, Denmark’s Anders Blacha and Daniel Schmidt.
