IRRC 2026: Cerveny Equals All Time IRRC Wins Record

WRP Wepol Racing’s Marek Cerveny is officially now, the joint most successful winning rider in IRRC history, after winning the Hengelo, Varsselring Supersport race curtain-raiser.

Cerveny’s route to a 38th IRRC victory, was pretty-serene apart from opening stages of the first lap.

Petr Najman (Festa Tools by Najmanmotorsport – Triumph) attained the hole-shot before Cerveny boldly sat up his fellow countryman, to gain the P1 initiative.

From here, the six times IRRC Champion went into overdrive, lap on lap expanding the gap to Najman.

Rolling off his pace significantly in concluding race laps, Cerveny’s finished 2.549 ahead of Najman.

Matej Vit almost made it a Czech 1-2-3 podium, nearly nicking third from Performance Racing Achterhoek’s Ilja Caljouw on the ninth, final lap, only for the bespectacled Caljouw to hold firm.

Mauro Poncini, event wildcard Kevin Mos, Rico Vetter, Wesley Ankersmid swooped P5-P8 finishes whilst Gary Johnson had an up, down then up race, running as high as fourth, slipping back to tenth, eventually finishing ninth.

Finishers tenth to fifteenth were Amalric Blanc (P10), Jonas Stracke (P11), Sebastian Frotscher (P12), Mike Mace (P13), Alexandre Bigot (P14) and Royal Navy Royal Marines Road Race Team’s Brian Fuidge (P15).
