IRRC 2025: Czech TT – Horice Preview – Supersport, Support Races

IRRC Supersport:

Hold on tight! ‘Czech TT’ Supersport races promise interesting spectacles, given that the top five within the current IRRC standings, are amongst the top ten fastest Supersport speedsters in Horice competition history.

It will be a battle not only on the track for race victories but also for every crucial IRRC Championship point with sixty-five points currently covering, series top five, Petr Najman (2.14.710), Adam McLean (2.16.220), Marek Cerveny (2.15.511), Gary Johnson (2.17.842) and Ilja Caljouw (2.18.473).

Rapid event wildcards Wolfgang ‘Wolfi’ Schuster (2.17.766), Markus Karlsson (premiere on 600cc apparatus, additionally IRRC SBK wild-card entrant), TT podium finishing newcomer Dominic Herbertson add further quality to the start-list.

Same applies to Karel ‘Chupa’ Brandtner (2.18.801), Mauro Poncini (2.19.687), Thomas Wendel (2.20.360), Rico Vetter (2.20.367), Martin Hulin (2.20.651), Sebastian ‘Frosch’ Frotscher (2.20.876), all targeting new personal best lap times, tumultuous finishes.

Expect pending aspects aligning together, stern progress as well from constantly improving Horice circuit competitor, 2025 Manx Grand Prix entrant Ales Sykora (2.20.980), Never Be Clever Racing’s Darryl Tweed (2.21.396) and next gen, young talent Matej Vit (2.22.672).

Next names to look out for are Slovakia’s fastest TT participant Miroslav ‘Laki’ Sloboda (2.21.236), Moritz Klaus (2.23.272) and Maxim Zanaska (2.23.544), fresh from been in Classic passenger mode at Nepomuk Triangle races.

These riders also deserve our respect, Zbynek Prochazka (2.23.618), Frantisek Loucka (2.23.948), Daniel Chovanec (2.24.841), Martin Baca (2.25.302), Gregory Botty (2.25.532), Michael Mace (2.26.153), Florian Glashauser (2.29.362), Mike Ceuppens (2.30.565) and Brian Fuidge (2.32.574).

Watch out for other debutants too (with already featured Dominic Herbertson), Brit David Brook, Thierry Vanhollebeke, Jonathan Lesceux, Jonas Stracke, Alexandre Bigot and 2024 Supersport Champion of French Hill Climb racing Mathieu Rieder.

Support Races – European Super Twins / Classics:

IRRC races are-supplemented by Solo Classic 175, 250, 350, 500, 750 cc contests and European Super Twins (count towards European SuperTwin – Road Race Challenge).

Prime Super Twin race favourites are the five fastest Twin riders (combining lap times from qualifying, race circulations) at Horice.

Afore-mentioned Petr Najman, unofficially in qualifying at 300 Curves of Gustav Havel in May, registered lap time of 2 minutes 18.748 seconds.

Official lap record holder in this class, is fellow-compatriot, Czech racing legend, five-times IRRC Supersport Champion Marek Cerveny (2.20.272), Jan Markalous (2.22.847), Martin Hrstka (2.23.384), Michal ‘Indi’ Dokoupil (2.23.591).

The Twins starting field also includes Ludovit Krusina (2.26.015), above spotlighted Miroslav ‘Laki’ Sloboda (2.27.686), Patrik Serbousek (2.27.935), Jan Nehasil (2.28.511), Lubos Konak (2.28.934), David Rezac (2.29.085).

Jan Herzog (2.30.065), Stefan Holz (2.30.160), Lukas Walter (2.30.255), and main organizers of Belgian Twin Trophy and ‘EST-RRC,’ Jacques Borremans, Herman Verboven (both Classic 500cc starters as well).

Then there’s intriguing overseas newcomers Mathieu Locuty, Rutger Peersman and Johan Guerin.

Wally Jacobs (IRRC SBK competitor) takes part but unfortunately Manxman Jamie Williams does not, focusing instead on upcoming Manx Grand Prix activities.

Yesteryear classic races feature fast riders like Jiri Obtulowicz, Milos Ther, Karel Kalina, Moto3 Horice lap record holder Moritz Nestler, Pavel Navratil, Martin Slanec.

Vitezslav Hatan, Rolf Blatter, James Walker, Ondrej Mraz, IRRC Supersport Champion x2 Laurent Hoffmann, Bart Crauwels, Pavel Kacena, Pavel Novak plus Austrian classic road racing inventory Johan Furbock.

The sole female rider competing during the weekend will be Sarka Schmidtova, aboard 250 Yamaha, classic 350 steeds.
