Irish Road Race Titles Up For Grabs At Mid Antrim 150

The final Irish road racing act of 2022 takes place this weekend at roads scene returnee, the Mid Antrim 150.

Major story points to keep a close eye on include those contending for Irish Road Race Championship titles.

Lightweight Manx GP winner, 125/Moto 3 Champion Michael Browne, Superbike & Super Twins Champion Michael Sweeney are separated by only 14 points in the race for Supersport title honours.

Five racers are still mathematically in contention to become Junior Support Champion, Championship leader Jonathan Watt, Michael Gahan, Eoin O’Siochru, Michael Gillan and Anthony O’Carroll.

Just 16 points cover Watt, Gahan, O’Siochru, Gillan, O’Carroll after rounds at Cookstown, Tandragee, Kells, Skerries, Faugheen and Armoy.

Brian Mateer is on the cusp of clinching the Junior 250 Classics crown, RJ Woolsey is only 13 points adrift of Supersport 300 series leader Barry Davidson.

Expect lots of twists, turns, points permutations on Saturday as competitors battle it out for coveted, prestigious Championship titles.
