In 2010 Ian Hutchinson became the first TT rider in history to win five TT races in one week, since then its being a challenging time for Ian but the TT legend is aiming to be back in action at the TT and at the international road races in 2014.
Coming up this weekend is the cock of the north road races at Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough and it was there in 2006 that Ian pulled off one of his best wins on road race circuits. This was winning the feature race on the Hawk Kawasaki superbike, Guy Martin and Ian Lougher where both in great form that weekend but Ian proved his natural talent and ability to take race victory by over 3 seconds.
But of course many of Ian’s best known race wins have being at the Isle of Man TT. For me Ian’s best win at the Isle of Man TT came in the 2009 superstock TT race. Ian was trailing Guy Martin by around 8 seconds at the end of lap 2 but made up around over 20 seconds to take a quite sensational race victory.
The man nicknamed Hutchy is one of the best ever riders to have raced on road race circuits, despite his injury setbacks since 2010 Ian is still a rider more than capable of winning multiple TT races in the future. For 2014 Ian is confirmed to be on Yamaha machinery as the preparation is building for Ian for when he aims to return to the Isle of Man TT next year.
