16 times TT winner Ian Hutchinson has become the latest leading Mountain Course competitor, to announce his intention to compete in this years Bennetts Lightweight TT, having struck a late deal with Ryan Farquhar’s KMR Kawasaki team.
Like fellow KMR riders Derek McGee, Peter Hickman and Danny Webb, the Bingley racer will pilot this May/June a top spec ER6 Kawasaki.
One difference in comparison to his new team mates who’s bikes carry title backing from IEG (International Energy Group), is that the Superstock TT lap record holder’s Kawasaki steed will feature title sponsorship from leading motorcycle leather company RST.
A newcomer to Super Twins machinery, it’s going to be interesting to see how competitive the ever ultra determined Hutchinson will be as alongside his trio of KMR team mates, he competes against the likes of class specialists James Cowton, Dan Cooper and Martin Jessopp.
Plus twice Lightweight TT champion Ivan Lintin, rising star Adam McLean, and Paton’s all star trio of Joe Thompson, Ian Lougher, Stefano Bonetti and Michael Dunlop.
No matter the outcome of his maiden Lightweight TT quest in June, the addition of another leading Mountain Course exponent to the class ranks, only adds more strings to the bow of Super Twins TT competition.
