HM Motorsport Add Arnold To 2023 Team Roster

In addition to running Cornwall speedster Forest Dunn, HM Motorsport have announced that they will also be working with in 2023, upcoming roads craftsman Gareth Arnold.

A top five finisher back in April at Cookstown, last August saw Arnold join the Mountain Course racer ranks.

He went onto place a very respectable ninth within the reduced in distance, two-lap Lightweight Manx GP race.

Dependable on two stroke, Super Twins steeds, Ramsey based Arnold new deal with Hugh Murphy’s HM Motorsport squad, is set to see him race yesteryear 350cc machinery at the Pre-TT Classic Road Races, Armoy and Manx GP.

Commenting about this topic via a recent press release, he stated:

“I am so happy to be riding Hugh’s HM Motorsport 350 for 2023.

Last season I joined the team and was welcomed like part of the family with a beautifully prepared bike and great support. It was just what I hoped to be a part of again. I love to ride Classics and have tried in my race career to promote these bikes to all and especially to the younger generation.

I am very proud to be working with Hugh, Clifford and the rest of the fellas again, where I hope to showcase the bike with great results at Armoy and at home on the Isle of Man, in the Pre TT Classic and the Manx GP.

I’m so looking forward to getting back to Armoy, it’s a brilliant road race to be part of and I would just like to thank the Armoy Club for making mum and myself so welcome, especially Bill Kennedy, who was very helpful in getting my entry accepted for the Manx this year.”

Team Owner of HM Motorsport, Hugh Murphy, who has previously worked with the likes of John Burrows, Gary Carswell, Maria Costello MBE, added:

“It’s really is great to have agreed terms with Gareth and Jennie for 2023. We had done a deal for Gareth to ride at the Mid Antrim this year but unfortunately the race didn’t run.

When I first met and spoke to Gareth in September, I was presently surprised at his whole approach to everything. Within a very short space of time, it felt like I’d known this young fella for ages.

Unlike a lot of young fellas in racing nowadays Gareth isn’t one for all the flash and glitzy things that so many seem to think is an important part of the racing scene.

In fact, he would almost shy away from even having photos taken.

I can honestly say it’s been a very long time since I’ve met such a well mannered, thankful and pleasant young man and a perfect ambassador not only for racing in general but he proves that Classic Racing isn’t just for The Aul boys!!”

Hugh continued:

“Although initially the deal is with Gareth riding one of our Classic 350 Hondas, I hope to have a couple 500 machines ready come the time of the Pre-TT.

Gareth has already proven that he’s a perfect fit in the squad and I’ve no doubt we will have a brilliant year ahead.

I personally would like to thank Jennie Arnold for putting her trust in the HM Motorsport Team. I can assure her that the entire Team will do their absolute best for Gareth by supporting him in every way we can.”
