Disclosed yesterday, Cornwall speedster Forest Dunn 2023 roads campaign will feature outings for HM Motorsport at selected events.
Feature race Champion at Cookstown in 2021, 83rd quickest racer in TT history Dunn, partnership with former Senior TT podium finishers HM Motorsport, has enabled an opportunity to pilot distinctive sounding, immaculately prepared 350 K4 Honda machinery.
Speaking about this latest road racing development, Dunn who is set to race the aforementioned 350 K4 Honda at the Pre-TT Classic, Armoy Road Races, potentially the 100th Anniversary Manx Grand Prix, stated:
“I’m over the moon to be racing on the HM Motorsport machinery in 2023.
I’ve been looking for a competitive classic ride for a while and it is an honour to be racing under the HM Motorsport colours, a livery with serious pedigree and proven results with quality machinery over the years.
Ever since I first spoke to Hugh Murphy, I felt like we got on straight away and I had a good feeling that this opportunity and a gentleman’s agreement would arise eventually.
I can’t thank Hugh enough for this opportunity and I looking forward to seeing what I can do on the classic scene.”
Team Owner of HM Motorsport Hugh Murphy, added:
“It’s great to have reached an agreement with Forest to ride one of the Honda 350 Classic bikes in some of the events we are taking part in next year, especially at this early stage.
Although it’s still a few months before he’s actually going to be racing the bike, it gives us a change to prepare the bike to suit him.
I know it will take Forest a bit of time to get used to racing these Classic bikes after being used with modern day machinery, but I’m confident that he’ll soon get used to the difference using our test days to get formalised with the Classic machine.”
He continued:
“For the HM Motorsport team, it’s all about enjoying ourselves, having fun, and making sure the riders enjoy the experience.
I’ve no doubt, Forest being a racer won’t just be out there to make up the numbers and will give it his all.
For me personally, the days of chasing results are in the past, although it’s always nice to see my bikes up next the pointy end, the smiles are more important to me now a days.
As for other Riders, there’s still a few i’s to dot and t’s to cross before any further announcements will be made but it’s all looking very good at the minute.”
