It was twisty sprint hill climb time for racers including Stephen ‘Degsy’ Degnan, Supersport B Race 1 winner at the Gold Cup meeting of 2019 Julian Tillotson, time trial specialists Dave Ward, David Peat and Scarborough returner, Brian Greenfield.
Greenfield a solid, dependable ‘North Yorkshire’ Mini TT pilot during the mid-2010’s, piloting ZX6R J1 Kawasaki tackle finished this afternoon quickest Supersport exponent, second-fastest overall.
Outright fastest following the top 20, top 10 shoot-outs was 710 plate holder, KTM speedster Paul Jeffery, who’s best time was just below 48 seconds.
Overall, ten different classes of machinery took today to the mount, with machines ranging from Danny O’Donoghue/Henry Phillip Roach’s ZZR Kawasaki Trike outfit to Lambretta’s to Carl Fogarty inspired Ducati exotica to Aermacchi, Velocette, Norton, Bucci, Motobi steeds.
There was even an immaculate looking Morgan three-wheeler! Which was driven by Bill Tuer & Maggie Tuer.
Tomorrow’s action at Oliver’s Mount revolves around traditional, shorter in distance hill climb based competition.
As during today’s timed stints, racers will be looking to top their respective classes, be in the mix for forthright top 20, top 10 shoot-out showings.
