By Dafabet Devitt Racing’s Paul Jordan emerged quickest in a truly captivating Super Twins qualifying session, which took place prior to a large bout of thunder, rain, heavy rain immersing itself upon Dundrod.
Consistently at the sharp end of timing leader board, Kells Supersport victor Jordan found a last gasp burst of pace to take pole position.
Lapping at 3 minutes 56.100 seconds, Jordan finished 0.651 clear of lead chaser on the road and on the time screens, Team ILR Paton mounted Joe Loughlin (3.56.751).
Third fastest KTS Racing’s Jamie Coward (3.57.173) had looked on course to snatch pole position, before Jordan, Loughlin’s exploits.
Early pace setter Lee Johnston (3.58.336), who looked very happy with the performance of the KMR Kawasaki built Ashcourt Racing supported ER6 Kawasaki, finished fourth quickest, just a shade under 1.2 seconds behind TT Privateers Champion Coward.
Dundrod specialist Christian Elkin (3.58.840) closely matched the pace shown by eight times International Road Race winner Johnston, on route to finishing fifth fastest.
Irish Road Race Super Twins Champion Michael Sweeney (4.05.526), Jonathan Perry (4.05.943) respectively finished sixth, seventh quickest as Welsh roads legend Ian Lougher (4.06.119), Optimark Road Racing’s Xavier Denis (4.06.599), lead UGP newcomer James Chawke (4.07.560) rounded out the ten fastest Twin class exponents.
