Bruce Birnie an excellent 2014 Scarborough gold cup. Bruce who made his Oliver’s Mount debut at 2013 cock of the north road races produced a great all round performance in second senior a race.
The S1000RR BMW mounted clinched 9th place finish which set him up well for the feature race of the weekend the Steve Henshaw international gold cup.

Following a closely fought start into mere hairpin on opening lap Bruce quickly slotted into top ten. From here he was involved in a eight rider scrap for seventh position.By lap six Bruce was battling for eighth place which he would secure by the end of the eight lap race.
Despite having only competed at three meetings around Oliver’s Mount Bruce Birnie has adapted very quickly to the road race circuit known to many as a mini TT. Bruce is already looking forward to returning to the mount next year where he will be aiming for more top results.
