Joining Davey Todd, Joey Thompson, Rob Hodson, Mark Goodings, Julian Trummer in revealing 2023 Macau GP projects, 2017 Senior Manx Grand Prix victor Michael Evans is looking forward to making next month, his debut at one of pure road racing’s ‘Majors’.
Earlier this year a three times top ten finisher at the North-West 200, the quietly determined, ambitions Evans is widely considered one of the Isle of Man’s top real roads craftsmen.
Up to 59th in the all-time fastest TT racers list, post this year’s history-making TT festival, the Douglas based rider elevated his overall quickest Mountain Course lap speed to 126.595 mph.
Same as during his fourth TT campaign, his maiden Macau GP/Guia Circuit exploration sees him GSX-R 1000 Suzuki mounted.
Commenting this afternoon via Facebook, Evans stated the following about taking on the Guia Circuit, famously described by Martin Jessopp as a short circuit with walls.
“A couple of months ago I was invited to race at this years’ 70th anniversary Macau GP and after working out logistics I am excited and proud to say I’ll be going to China in five weeks to race round this iconic road circuit.
Grateful to everyone who has made this happen and I’m looking forward to seeing what I can achieve will I’m there.
If anyone would like to come on board as a sponsor for the event to help with the costs’, then please send me a message as there is plenty of room to have your sticker on my bike!
Thanks to all sponsors and businesses who have helped me so far in 2023.”
