Current Irish road race super twins champion Derek McGee is all set to pilot a brand new S1000RR BMW, for Noel Williamson Racing during the 2016 pure road racing season.
Regarded by many to be amongst the fastest rising stars between the hedges, Derek is tipped by many for string of world class results this year at the North West 200, Ulster Grand Prix and TT 2016.
Alongside the international’s further planned action includes returns to the Cookstown 100, Tandragee 100, Kells, Skerries, Armoy and Faugheen 50 meetings.
Recent years have seen Derek seal many a notable achievement on the roads, they include:
2014 Irish road race supersport champion
2015 Irish road race super twins champion
2015 Leading newcomer at TT 2015
2015 Ulster Grand Prix super twins race winner
Although it’s his first time competing on BMW Motorrad machinery, Derek McGee has the potential to push for top six finishes in superstock races around the Triangle and Dundrod, plus push for Irish road race superbike championship success.
TT 2016 marks his second appearance at the most famous road race in the world, in my opinion Derek will start amongst the favourites for privateers championship victory.
