Derek McGee Aiming To Keep Up Top Draw Super Twins Form

Ulster Grand Prix super twins winner Derek McGee is aiming keep up his top draw form on his own teams ER6 Kawasaki, for the 2016 pure road racing season.

Alongside his Ulster GP success 2015 also saw Derek become Irish road race super twins champion, following victories at Tandragee, Kells, Faugheen and Killalane.

Another highlight of a top class season for him, was making his TT Races debut. Without a doubt the main highlight of TT 2015 was excellent eleventh place finish in the lightweight race.

His North West 200 debut also saw him impress on his own teams Kawasaki backed by Shane Wogan, as he secured fifth place finish in opening super twins encounter.

Don’t be surprised to see Derek in contention for podium finishes around the Triangle this year, he’s established as one of the leading 650 competitors in pure road racing.

As for TT 2016 in my opinion he has the proven pace plus talent to be knocking on the doors of at least a top five finish, in the lightweight race.

We’ve seen in recent years Ivan Lintin, James Cowton and Jamie Hamilton all move up a level in super twins class.

Derek McGee has also moved up a level becoming a frequent front runner in a class, that is still dominated by ER6 Kawasaki’s.
