Dominant and some was just one way to describe David Datzer’s display within the re-started, opening IRRC Horice Superbike encounter.
Never headed across the eight-lap race, lap two saw ‘Datzii’ for the second time this weekend, break the existing outright lap record, lapping at 2.13.141 seconds.
Consistently lapping below 2 minutes 14 seconds, the MTP Racing rider was truly in a league of his own, going onto emerge victorious by 14 seconds over Vincent Lonbois.
IRRC SBK Championship wise, Lonbois is now three points in arrears to new series leader Datzer.
Finalising the Superbike Race One podium finishers alongside Datzer, Lonbois was top Kawasaki runner Lukas Maurer.
Former outright Horice lap record holder Didier Grams took fourth behind Maurer whilst positions fifth to tenth were occupied by:
Patrick Hoff (5th), twice IRRC Supersport Champion Laurent Hoffmann (6th), Sweden’s Markus Karlsson (7th), Marcel Elsner (8th), Joey Den Besten (9th) and Performance Racing Achterhoek’s Virgil Amber Bloemhard (10th).
Outside the first ten finishers others clinching creditable finishes included Johannes Schwimmbeck (11th), Nico Muller (12th) and the UK’s top challenger Darryl Anderson (16th).
