Cooper’s 2022 NW200 Super Twin Wins Re-Instated

BMW F900R Cup Champion Richard Cooper has had his Super Twin successes achieved at last year’s Northwest 200, re-instated after a successful appeal of the decision made by NW200 stewards.

The final decision made on the 1st of November, means that Cooper is now a four-time NW200 race winner, equal on Triangle course triumphs with the likes of David Jefferies, Jimmie Guthrie and Bob McIntyre.

Back in May of 2022 post dominant victories astride the KMR (Ryan Farquhar) prepped JMcC Roofing Racing Kawasaki, Cooper was disqualified from race results due to a technical infringement.

A statement at the time issued by NW200 organisers, read as follows:

“The results of both the Milltown Service Station and JM Paterson Super Twin races have been amended following the exclusion of Richard Cooper’s JMC Roofing Kawasaki because of a modification to the machine’s frame which is deemed to be against the rules by the stewards of the meeting.”

Fast forward to now and as shown above, all’s changed with Cooper reincorporated within the Super Twin race results alongside his at the time, class lap-record breaking, lap times.
