Cookstown: Dunlop Splashes To 113th Irish Road Race Win

Michael Dunlop made it 113 Irish road race wins in total, after a thoroughly professional display in the Henry Brown/Hayes Fuels Super Twins (A) race.

Six seconds clear of the chasing pack post lap one’s finalisation, Dunlop aboard the McAdoo Kawasaki Twin never looked back.

Just as Dunlop took the chequered flag, clinching in comprehensive style race victory, red flags descended upon the steeped in history, over 100 years old Orritor Circuit.

Multiple Manx GP podium finisher Stephen McKnight had tipped off at Mackney Corner.

Emerging unscathed, McKnight at lap seven’s completion had been holding third behind ‘Tommy Club’ member Dan Ingham.

Senior Support (A) race winner Anthony O’Carroll occupied fourth with Marcus Simpson, Anthony McColgan rounding out the top six.

Full race result, to follow later.
