The annual Cock of the north road races at Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough has attracted a quality entry. Leading the entry is Isle of Man TT star Dean Harrison. Dean is competing in the superbike, supersport and super-twin races competing for the RC Express racing Kawasaki by MSS performance team, Ian Bell motorcycles team and the Stewart Smith racing team. Recently at the Southern 100 Dean achieved podium finishes in every race that he was entered in including being victorious in the supersport race and in the second super-twin race at this years Southern 100.

Dean starts a warm favourite for all races this weekend at Oliver’s Mount but there is many a rider capable of challenging Dean at this years cock of the north road races. This includes winner of the feature cock of the north race in 2009, Michael Pearson. Michael is competing for the team Hotties Thermal packs racing team on BMW, Yamaha and Kawasaki machinery. A rider who always goes well at Oliver’s Mount will be aiming to record top results at this years cock of the north road races.

Ryan Farquhar’s KMR Kawasaki powered by Vauxhall team has a strong presence for the cock of the north road races. Competing for the team will be Jamie Hamilton, James Cowton and Connor Behan. Jamie Hamilton is having a great 2013 road racing season which has included race wins at Cookstown, Tandragee and at the Southern 100. Whilst James Cowton is a rider who is getting better and better all the time on roads circuits, at the recent Southern 100 James produced a stunning ride in the supersport race finishing in fifth place in front of multiple time TT winner, Ian Lougher.

For the supersport races at this weekends cock of the north road races James is competing on a CBR 600 Honda backed by CC engineering and will be aiming for a podium finish. The KMR Kawasaki powered by Vauxhall team are renowned for producing top super-twin ER6 Kawasaki’s and at this years cock of the north road races expect the team to be a factor in the ultra competitive super-twin races.

Top 5 finisher at Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough James Coward will be aiming to go one or two places better when competing at this weekends cock of the north road races. James is competing for the RJP racing team on a CBR 1000 Fireblade Honda whilst for the supersport 600 races James is competing on a R6 Yamaha backed by Barnes racing. James made his Isle of Man TT debut this year acquiring a two top 20 finishes in both supersport TT races.

4th place finisher in this years lightweight TT race Ivan Lintin is back at Oliver’s Mount this weekend and will be looking for top 5 finishes in the super-twin and supersport races. Ivan is competing on a Tigcraft backed ER6 Kawasaki super-twin whilst in the supersport races Ivan is competing on a Taylor Lindsey backed ZX6 Kawasaki. Having finished in third place in the supersport 600 race at the Ian Watson spring cup road races, Ivan will be confident of sustaining this form at Oliver’s Mount this weekend.

Oliver’s Mount specialists Keith Pringle, Mick Goodings, Mark Goodings, Dean Hindson, Kiaran Hankin and David Hewson are all more than capable of securing podium finishes at this years cock of the north road races. Up and coming road racing star Daley Mathison is looking forward to this weekends cock of the north road races where Daley is competing on a CBR 1000 Fireblade Honda in the superbike races whilst for the supersport races Daley is Suzuki mounted.

The 250 races at Oliver’s Mount this weekend are sure to be a highly competitive as 250 specialists Phil Harvey, Paul Owen and Chris Palmer are all entered. Leading the newcomers entry at Oliver’s Mount this weekend is Jochem-Van-Den-Hoek. Jochem from the Netherlands recently was one of the leading newcomers at this years Southern 100 where Jochem recorded top 20 finishes on the Ice Valley racing by Motorsave ltd R1 Yamaha, this weekend sees Jochem competing on the same bike for the superbike races.

Also making their Oliver’s Mount debut at the cock of the north road races are reigning scottish superbike champion Bruce Birnie and up and coming road racer from the Isle of Man, Jack Hunter.

Leading the sidecar entry is Conrad Harrison. Conrad has being competing at Oliver’s Mount for many years and at this years Isle of Man TT recorded two podium finishes in both sidecar TT races. Ian Bell has won over 40 times at Oliver’s Mount over the years and will be looking for more wins at this weekends cock of the north road races. Seasoned sidecar competitors Greg Lambert and Tony Elmer are both capable of taking race wins this weekend at what is a prestigious road race meeting that has seen many a road racing superstar win the cock of the north road races feature race.
