Illustrating in full the global reach of pure road racing, this weekend sees a road race take place in Cameroon.
Set to be the opening closed roads event worldwide of 2022, the Grand Prix Moto Du Cameroun event takes place within the Bonamoussadi quarter of Douala, which hosts a challenging just over four kilometres long roads course.
Organisers are anticipating an entry ranging from twenty to thirty racers which includes Frances’s quickest Manx GP exponent Morgan Govignon.
Invited to take part, 675 Daytona Triumph mounted Govignon who has previously raced for TT regulars Optimark Road Racing, is ultra-enthused about this weekend’s upcoming race action.
A ten-lap distance is in prospect for the feature race at a meeting which has a similar vibe to Spain’s La Baneza, Colombia’s Motovelocidad Del Valle and Portugal’s Xassos Urban Cup.
Road Racing News wishes nothing but positivity to those competing, the organisers, everyone involved in helping add a new aspect to the road race calendar.
