FHO Racing’s Peter Hickman impressed during the opening British Superbike Championship qualifying session of 2021, finishing fifth quickest plus leading M1000RR BMW mounted competitor.
23 times International road race winner Hickman during Q2, set a best lap time of 1 minute 34.757 seconds to take fifth on the time screens, just over 0.250 behind pace setter Tommy Bridewell.
Three places further behind Hickman was Honda Racing’s Glenn Irwin. The four times North West 200 victor who is targeting making his TT Races debut in 2022, best lap time from qualifying stood at 1 minute 34.885 seconds.
Fellow Triangle course front runner Dean Harrison (1.36.929), turn of speed during Q1 wasn’t enough to make it through to Q2.
Same applied to 28th, 29th quickest overall Brian McCormack (1.39.537) and Dundrod 150 winner, Oliver’s Mount Scarborough specialist Joe Thompson (1.41.950).
Opening Superbike race action at Oulton Park is scheduled to get underway from 4:15 PM, with a 15 lap distance for the aforementioned racers.
