This year’s FIM Europe affiliated European Hill Climb Championship series, opened on Saturday, Sunday at Austria’s ‘Mountain Race’, the uncompromising Landshaag course.
P1 in both Superbike timed contests was Italian road racing hero, Northwest 200 winner Stefano Bonetti.
Bonetti, 31 plate holder for the 1000cc races of TT 2024, in challenging conditions registered low 1 minute 14 second lap times.
Second, third best times two behind ‘Bonny’ were Thomas Altendorfer and fellow Italian, Manx GP newcomer last year, Salvatore Sallustro.
Sallustro additionally finished runner-up in the Supermoto contests which were claimed by Bernhard Hormann.
You will notice a glaring omission from race results posted below, reigning European Hill Climb Supersport & Superbike Champion Maurizio Bottalico.
Unfortunately, during early competition proceedings, Bottalico aboard R1 Yamaha machinery, endured a major high-side, which resulted in him sustaining multiple injuries.
Road Racing News wishes him a swift and very speedy recovery.
