There’s something unique about Sidecar racing at Scarborough. Whether how close the racing is, how spectacular the outfit’s look going through Jefferies Jumps.
Viewing close up the driver, passenger’s talents, it’s a must for roads fans to witness three-wheeling competition at England’s only real roads course.
Current three wheeling Scarborough ‘King Pin’ Lee Crawford, joined in the Team A.R.C outfit by TT podium finisher Jake Lowther, start it’s fair to say firm favourites for success in all three of this weekend’s BDS Motorcycles Sidecar encounters.
It is going to take faultless, truly world-class performances from their fellow competitors to defeat them over the weekend.
Anticipated leading challengers to Crawford/Lowther include former TT Champions Conrad Harrison/Andy Winkle.
The popular Harrison/Winkle (Town Garage/Horsforth) pairing know what it takes to secure top results at the Mount and it wouldn’t’ at all be a surprise to see them scoop at least one race win.
Joining Harrison/Winkle on the entry list are fellow regular Scarborough front runners, father/son duo Steve Ramsden/Matty Ramsden (Ramsden Racing).
Consistently contending for victories, they are certain to be in the mix across Saturday, Sunday.
Same applies to welcome Scarborough returnees, TT legends Dave Molyneux/Dan Sayle.
Sticking this year with 890 KTM power, 17 times TT winner Molyneux remains hugely determined, ambitious, keen to bolster an already incredible pure road racing CV.
Whilst it’s six years since he last tackled North Yorkshire’s ‘Mini TT’, discount him at your peril, racers like him can never be underestimated.
Added ones to watch this weekend include Greg Lambert/Andrew Haynes (Graham & Ann Ward), Carl Fenwick/Phil Knapton (CR Fenwick Commercials Ltd) and Real Racing’s Wayne Lockey/Matty Rostron.
Completing the 12 strong-entry are David Marshall/Tony Pitt, Bruce Moore/Mark Gash (MDK Office Seating).
Lee Eastell/Ian Tennant (Lee Eastell Engineering Services Ltd), Derek Lynch/Anthony McDonnell (Eclipse Racing) and White Rose Racing’s Shaun Chandler/Ben Chandler.
