BE/RK (Burrows Engineering/Richardson Kelly) Racing’s 2023 Irish road racing season, concluded in effective fashion at Armoy as Michael Browne’s rising star status in the world of pure road racing, further emboldened.
Setting a new lap record on route to a dominant Moto 3 race victory, Browne also showed his deft touch aboard four-stroke tackle, acquiring a new PB lap speed of 105.626 mph, securing second place finishes from the weather impacted second Supersport, ‘Race of Legends’ races.
Reflecting on the past weekend’s achievements, the quietly spoken Irishman stated:
“It’s been a great weekend here at Armoy, the quality of the field was strong and I knew podiums was where I wanted to be coming into the weekend.
To win the Moto 3 with a new lap record was a nice bonus and to finish on the podium on both the 600 and Superbike was a great end to the road racing year.”
BE/RK Racing Team Principal John Burrows added:
“It was good to get another solid weekend over for us at Armoy. To get a lap record on the Moto 3 and be second to Michael on two occasions on the 600 and 1000 was a good way to bring our Irish road racing campaign for 2023 to an end.
For Mike to lap faster than he has previously around Armoy on every bike shows the strength of himself and the team right now.
With the changeable conditions, Simon and Arnie made the correct changes so the bikes where as comfortable for Mike as possible. I’d like to thank all the team for their effort over the weekend.”
