No matter the changing conditions, stiff opposition, there was no stopping Jamie Coward today aboard the KTS Racing Kawasaki, as he wrapped up a hat trick of Super Twin victories.
Hebden Bridge’s Coward, who went into the Barry Sheene Classic off the back of an ultra strong BMCRC-MRO Cadwell Park meeting, showed in the morning and afternoon why he came agonisingly close last year to Lightweight TT success.
Sunday’s first twins race saw the reigning TT Privateers Champion surge to class honours, taking the victory spoils by seven seconds plus, over ultra impressive Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough debutant James Hind.
Twins race number four would see Coward prove even more dominant, this time taking the chequered flag with an 11.2 second advantage over lead pursuer, Cowton Racing’s Dominic Herbertson.
Taking third behind Herbertson was Lightweight Manx GP lap record holder Hind, whilst Team ILR with Mark Coverdale team mate/team manager Ian Lougher placed fourth.
Others to enjoy productive stints on twin machinery today included twice top five finisher, VRS Racing’s Brad Vicars, twice top six finisher Mark Purslow, ‘Tommy Club’ Manx GP member Dan Ingham, Supersport B races victor Michael Rees and number 68 plate holder Roddy Taylor.
