Barry Sheene Classic Latest: Peoples Bike Team’s Akroyd Set For Third Scarborough Tenure

The Peoples Bike Team’s Joe Akroyd is all set for his third Scarborough racing tenure, having confirmed plans to tackle the three day Barry Sheene Classic.

Akroyd who placed 18th in last year’s Dunlop Senior TT, latest upcoming trip to Scarborough will see him pilot 675 Daytona Triumph machinery, which he recently tested at Croft.

Fastest ‘Mini TT’ newcomer from last July’s Barry Sheene meeting, he went onto place in September a very respectable seventh in the prestigious Steve Henshaw International Gold Cup.

Growing in confidence around England’s only current closed roads course, he’s a definite one to watch in mid August and it wouldn’t at all be a surprise if he banks multiple top three finishes.

Reminder competition featuring the twice Manx GP rostrum finisher, 2019 Senior TT winner Dean Harrison (Greenall Racing), DC Racing’s Mike Norbury, Dominic Herbertson (Cowton Racing) takes place in just under two weeks time from the 14th-16th of August.
